Information Minister Calls for Support to FG Plans to tackle desertification

The Minister of Information, Labaran Maku has called on the northern states governments to collaborate with the Federal Government in its bid to combat desertification in the region.

The Minister made the call in Kebbi State as he led the National Good Governance Tour team on an inspection of the Yar’adua General Hospital in the state.

He disclosed that plans are under way for the launch of a green world programme by the Federal Government. He enjoined the region to help ensure that the program is successful. He also spoke on the importance of tree planting to the environment and to the mental and physical health of mankind.
