Burma sees return of private newspapers

Thein Sein, President of Burma

Private Daily newspapers are being sold in Burma for the first time in almost 50years as state monopoly ends. It was announced in December that private dailies would be allowed to publish from April 1 as the government informed journalists that they would no longer have to submit their work routinely to state censor before publication.
